Brooklyn Public Library is one of the most well known public library systems in the America and has 58 branches in Brooklyn. The BPL individual branches had no consistent brand image that unified them. A lot of people in Brooklyn are unaware that one of these branches could be just around the block.
I created a brand awareness campaign, promoting the tagline ‘Just Around the Block’. By establishing a uniform brand image the libraries are easily linked. A new signage system allows users to attend several branches and find what they’re looking for.
The fastest and cheapest way to establish this new brand image was to create a brand guidelines to be distributed to each of the branches. The brand guidelines extensively details how the branches can establish this new image. I also enjoyed writing all of the copy as the tone of voice I chose embodies the vibrancy in the BPL branches.
